For the first of this season's double headers it was over to the west of Wiltshire and the popular track of Castle Combe.
After today's racing we would be half way though the season so a good showing was the order of the day, we would also have a showery weather forecast thrown in for good measure.
The morning qualifying session got under way at 10:30, your best time would count for race 1 and 2nd best for race 2.
Bill soon got into the swing of things improving his times and midway through recorded a very respectable 1min 17.379 to put him on pole from Kelly Rogers, Endaf Owens and Andy Hack.

Back at the paddock the usual pre race checks were completed and the wets were readied following a brief spell of heavy rain.

Race one got under way with everyone opting for slicks as the track had dried out quickly. Bill found himself out dragged from the line by Kelly, with Endaf and Andy Hack in close proximity. On the completion of lap 1 of the 10 lap race we were down in fourth as Kelly and Endaf swapped the lead. Unfortunately Bill started to encounter brake problems and although he stayed with the lead bunch he was unable to mount a serious challenge and finished fourth.  Andy Hack came third and Kelly second. Endaf taking a popular first win of the season.

For race two we had gone all through checking the brakes and Bill lined up on the front row with Kelly on pole. The second start was almost a repeat of the first as Kelly got the drag up into Quarry corner in first place. At the end of lap 1 it was Kelly from Endaf and Bill with Colin Peacock fourth. Endaf took the lead and battled it out with Kelly to take his second win of the day.  Not so good news for us as the clutch gave out and the best Bill could do was defend his third position from Colin.

The next stop is the super fast Thruxton and Endaf Owens will be looking to capitalize on his Combe form.
